This is the story of a kid who, at 14 years old in 1984, preferred to see the Geoffroy Guichard Stadium than the Eiffel Tower. The story of this same kid, who, 40 years later, as an adult, has still not changed his mind: ASSE was, is and will be his whole life. Éric has been a collector of objects (jerseys, balls, cleats... paving stones!) concerning ASSE for 40 years to the point of making a real little museum at home. He has met and talked with practically all of his Green idols. From Jean Castaneda, who prefaced the book, to Robert Beric, we travel through the ups and downs of ASSE. And the “worst” thing in all this? He was born in Cholet, 600 kilometers from Saint-Étienne! But then? Why? How?

"Looking for Sainté" is not a love story, but several, because by diving into Eric's story, we also dive into that of his family to whom he passed on his love of the Greens. Anecdotes, history, encounters, patience, because it takes a lot of patience to sometimes wait for hours for the players, at the airport, at the stadium, or at training. Eric tells us with his light-hearted, self-deprecating tone, his dream come true, and shows in the process, the incredible passion that football can generate, even today.
